What's in It for Me? Benefits of Membership

Long called “the most active Chamber” in the five boroughs, the Sunnyside Chamber is a reflection of the wonderful character of Sunnyside itself. Being a member is way to be a vital part of the daily life of the Sunnyside and Woodside area in a way which you might find rewarding while helping you increase your bottom line or organizational mission. You may not be a "joiner," but simply wish to find out if the Chamber can help you make more money locally or get contacts you need to accomplish what you want. How will this happen?
• The Chamber offers networking with its members, other Chambers and every organization in Sunnyside through monthly luncheons, newsetters, special events, and business card exchanges.
• The Chamber hosts free trade expert presentations of interest to business, and shares information with its members such as greatly reduced credit merchant fees.
• The Chamber seeks to fairly promote its members through regular publicity.
• The Chamber arranges individual or group Small Business Administration counseling.
• Chamber Mission: The Chamber, founded in 1947, is a voluntary membership organization open to merchants, organizations and individuals. The bylaws commit “to develop, encourage, promote and protect the commercial, professional, financial and general business interests and ethics of the area known as Sunnyside and Woodside, to promote civic interests and the general welfare of the community.”
• The Sunnyside Chamber stays involved with all levels of government to represent YOUR interests and provides face-to-face opportunities for you to meet the public agency heads with whom you wish to interact. The Chamber is politically neutral but seeks to advocate for its members with elected officials and city agencies.
• The Sunnyside Chamber costs the same yearly fee, $125, to all members ($25 for non-voting individuals), whether a global giant or a local entity of one, and each member has the same elective power as another.
• The Chamber is a volunteer organization and you are free to join any committee you wish or begin your own committee, if appropriate.
• The Sunnyside Chamber website has consistently held the highest spot in search engine ranking for Sunnyside for 13 years. We have added two searchable databases – the comprehensive community friendly Sunnyside Directory, and access to every business and organization in the Sunnyside area. Each full member may and can easily create or get free help to create a member page.
• The Chamber prides itself on its history and its association with the most successful and vibrant individuals, businesses and organizations since its inception, while knowing that new members are just as important. With you, we will survive and grow!
